About Us
Independent consultants investigating timber decay and damp defects
Exposure Surveying Ltd are independent building diagnostic consultants, undertaking investigations into the causes of rising damp, penetrating damp, condensation, dry rot, wet rots, death watch beetle and woodworm in historic buildings, private homes and commercial premises that follow conservation principles.
Our services include, timber condition assessments utilising non-destructive ultrasonic and microdrill investigations and strength grading of structural timbers, investigations into the causes of dampness within buildings and environmental monitoring.
Additionally, we can undertake all our investigations at height using rope access techniques, allowing us to assess defects in buildings and structures, cost effectively, discreetly and sensitively when compared against the erection of scaffolding. We can climb up or abseil down churches and other buildings with awkward access, causing minimal disruption to day to day activities.
Although our roots are in building conservation and restoration, we also have a particular interest in buildings and structures incorporating glue laminated timber having undertaken condition assessments of some of the most innovative examples of glulam.
Recent investigations have included defects found in historic buildings, condition assessments of structures and sculptures in public spaces.
