Independent Consultants
We are independent of any chemical treatment company, any organisation representing the interests of chemical treatment companies or manufacturers.
Much of our workload involves assessing timber decay and damp related building defects on a consultancy basis, with the objective of presenting our findings for others to action.
However, we do have an in-house building conservation works department, a small team of building conservators you can access should you require. We have provided this service because we know some clients want more than just an assessment, preferring the problems to be addressed and resolved in one. As conservation professionals and practitioners, we are guided by building conservation principles.
How can we help?
As independent consultants we:
- identify the causes of building defects,
- assess the extent of the problem
- recommend solutions that are cost-effective, long-term and environmentally responsible
Practitioners
As practitioners we:
- implement environmental controls that eradicate dry rot and manage other wood destroying organisms
- carry out sensitive exposure work and reinstatement
- administer the targeted treatments for the control of an active death watch beetle infestation
- ongoing monitoring of beetle activity
- environmental monitoring
What we don’t do (and vehemently separate ourselves from).
- we are not sales men
- we don’t undertake precautionary timber treatments
- strictly no retro-fit chemical injection damp proof courses
Our philosophy
- promote the importance of minimal interventions
- promote the use of traditional materials which are sympathetic to the vernacular building
- always monitor the progress of controls
